Overview

A Shopify development agency that keeps things simple

Shopify is a strong platform for most small and mid-sized online stores. It handles hosting, security, checkout and payments, so you can focus on products and customers. The hard part is building a store that loads fast, explains products clearly and makes buying easy on a phone. That is where our Shopify development service comes in.

We are Newzen, founded in 2023, with Newzen LLC registered in New Mexico, USA, and a development team in Bangladesh. We build and improve Shopify stores for brands in the US, Australia, the UK, Canada and worldwide.

What Shopify services do we offer?

New Shopify store set-up

From an empty account to a launch-ready store: theme selection and customization, product and collection structure, payments, shipping, taxes settings guidance, policies, essential apps and analytics.

Shopify theme design and customization

We customize Online Store 2.0 themes with sections and blocks you can edit yourself, or build custom sections where a theme falls short. Your team keeps control of content without calling a developer for every banner change.

Store redesigns

If your store works but looks dated or converts poorly, we redesign key templates, such as home, collection, product and cart, while keeping your products, customers and order history intact.

Migrations to Shopify

Moving from WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace or another platform? We plan product, customer and order data migration where possible, rebuild the storefront and set up redirects so you protect your search traffic.

Speed and conversion fixes

Many slow Shopify stores are slowed down by too many apps, oversized images and leftover scripts. We audit and clean them up. Our guide why your website is slow on phones explains the main culprits.

What makes a Shopify store convert?

  • Clear product pages: good photos, honest descriptions, sizing or spec details, shipping and returns info near the buy button.
  • Easy navigation: collections that match how customers think, plus useful filters and search.
  • Fast mobile pages: most stores see a large share of traffic on phones, so we design and test there first.
  • Trust: real reviews, clear contact details, secure checkout and transparent policies.
  • A short path to checkout: fewer distractions, sensible upsells, accelerated payment options where available.

How we work

1. Audit and scope

We start with a free growth audit of your current store or plan, delivered within two business days. Then we agree goals, pages, apps and integrations.

2. Fixed-price quote

You receive a written quote covering design, development, migration and launch. Changes in scope are quoted before we do them.

3. Design

We design key templates mobile-first and share them for your feedback before building.

4. Build in a safe environment

We work in an unpublished theme or development store, so your live store keeps selling while we build.

5. Test and launch

We test checkout, discounts, shipping rules, emails, tracking and speed, then publish and monitor the first days closely.

What you get

  • A customized Shopify theme, editable through the theme editor
  • Product, collection and navigation structure
  • Payment, shipping and checkout settings configured with you
  • Essential apps chosen carefully, without bloat
  • Google Analytics 4, Meta pixel and conversion tracking set-up
  • SEO basics: titles, descriptions, alt text guidance, clean URLs and redirects
  • A training video for managing products, orders and pages
  • 30 days of post-launch support

Who owns the Shopify store?

You do. The Shopify account is created in your name and billed to you. We work as a collaborator or staff account. Theme code we write is yours, and any paid apps or themes are bought on your account. If you move on, nothing needs to be transferred back from us.

Growing your Shopify store after launch

A store needs traffic. We can run Google Ads including Shopping campaigns, and Meta Ads for Facebook and Instagram, plus social media management to keep your brand active. See our page for ecommerce brands for how these fit together.

Which Shopify apps do you really need?

The Shopify App Store makes it easy to add features, and just as easy to add weight. Each app can load its own scripts on every page, and some leave code behind even after you uninstall them. Before installing anything, we ask three questions:

  1. Can the theme or Shopify itself already do this? Many features that once needed an app, such as filters, metafields and basic bundles, are now built in or handled by the theme.
  2. Does it earn its cost and its weight? A reviews app that collects real customer reviews usually does. A pop-up that fires on every page often does not.
  3. Is it actively maintained? We prefer apps with recent updates, clear support and transparent pricing.

The result is a store that does what you need without paying for, or loading, things you never use. If you are taking over an older store, we also check for leftover code from removed apps.

Shopify vs WordPress: which is right for you?

If selling products online is your main goal, Shopify is usually the simpler, safer choice. If your business is mainly services with a small shop on the side, WordPress may suit better. If you need complex custom logic, such as quoting tools or subscription portals, we may suggest custom web applications alongside Shopify. We recommend in plain English, with monthly running costs included.

How much does Shopify development cost?

Shopify projects start from $1,500 as a fixed one-time price. Larger catalogs, custom sections, migrations and integrations increase the scope. You will also pay Shopify's own subscription and any app or theme fees directly to them. We list those costs in your quote so there are no surprises.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

How long does it take to build a Shopify store?

A straightforward store often takes 3 to 6 weeks once products and content are ready. Larger catalogs, custom sections and migrations take longer.

Can you migrate my store from WooCommerce or Wix?

Yes. We plan the migration of products and, where possible, customers and orders, rebuild the storefront and set up redirects to protect search traffic.

Do you build custom Shopify themes?

We usually customize a quality Online Store 2.0 theme and add custom sections, which is faster and easier to maintain. Fully custom themes are possible when the project needs one.

Who pays for Shopify and apps?

You pay Shopify and any app or theme developers directly on your own account. We list expected costs in our quote.

Can you help me get sales after launch?

Yes. We offer Google Shopping and Search ads, Meta Ads and social media management for Shopify brands.
