Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
We optimize your Google Business Profile, build an honest review process, fix your listings and strengthen your local pages. Month-to-month, and your profile stays yours.
What is local SEO, in plain English?
Local SEO is the work that helps your business show up when people nearby search for what you do: "dentist near me", "emergency electrician Phoenix", "best tacos open now". For most local businesses, these searches are where new customers come from, and they usually happen on a phone, often when someone is ready to call or visit today.
Our local SEO and Google Business Profile service improves how you appear in Google Maps and the local results, keeps your business details accurate across the web, builds a steady, honest review process, and makes sure your website gives Google clear reasons to show you for each service and area you cover.
What is the "map pack", and why does it matter?
When you search for a local service on Google, you often see a small map with a short list of businesses underneath it, usually three. That block is called the map pack (or local pack). Each listing shows the business name, star rating, reviews, opening hours and buttons to call, get directions or visit the website.
It matters because it sits near the top of the page, and people can call you straight from it without ever visiting your website. If you are not in that short list, many searchers will simply never scroll far enough to find you.
Google says local results are based mainly on three things: relevance (how well your profile matches the search), distance (how far you are from the searcher or the location they searched) and prominence (how well known and well regarded your business is, including reviews and your presence across the web). We cannot move your building closer to customers, but we can work hard on relevance and prominence.
What is included in local SEO
Google Business Profile optimization
Your Google Business Profile (GBP) is the free listing that appears in Maps and the map pack. We complete and correct every useful field: business name exactly as it is in the real world, primary and secondary categories, services, service areas, hours, holiday hours, description, attributes and booking links. Why it matters: the categories and services you choose are among the clearest signals Google uses to decide which searches you are relevant for. A wrong primary category can keep you out of the results you want most.
Photos and posts
We help you add real photos of your premises, team and work, and publish regular posts for offers, news and events. Why it matters: an active, well-presented profile gives searchers more reasons to choose you, and real photos build trust far better than stock images.
A review-request process and review replies
Reviews influence both where you appear and whether people choose you. We set up a simple, repeatable process to ask every customer for a review, such as a short link sent by text or email after a job, and we draft or post thoughtful replies to reviews, including the negative ones. Why it matters: a steady flow of recent, genuine reviews is one of the most useful things a local business can build, and calm, helpful replies show future customers how you treat people.
Two firm rules. We never write, buy or swap fake reviews. And we never use review gating, which means only asking happy customers to post publicly while steering unhappy ones elsewhere. Both are against Google's policies, and fake reviews are also prohibited by the US Federal Trade Commission's rule on fake reviews and testimonials, finalized in 2024. Breaking these rules can get reviews removed, your profile restricted, or worse. We ask everyone, and we respond to everyone.
NAP citations
NAP stands for name, address and phone number. Citations are listings of your business on other sites, such as Apple Business Connect (Apple Maps), Bing Places, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, and directories for your industry or city. We find and fix inconsistent or duplicate listings and build missing ones that are worth having. Why it matters: consistent details across the web help Google trust that your information is correct, and some customers find you on those sites directly.
Location and service pages
We create or improve pages on your website for each main service and, where it is genuinely relevant, the areas you serve. Each page has useful, original content, not the same text with the city name swapped. Why it matters: when your profile links to a page that clearly matches the search, it supports your relevance, and it gives people who click through the information they need to call.
Local schema markup
Schema is code added to your website that tells search engines plainly what your business is, where it is, its hours and contact details. We add LocalBusiness schema (or a more specific type, like Dentist or Plumber) that matches your profile. Why it matters: it removes guesswork for search engines and keeps your website and profile telling the same story.
Tracking calls and clicks from your profile
We add tracking parameters to your profile's website link so visits from GBP show up separately in Google Analytics, and review the calls, direction requests and website clicks shown in your profile's performance data. Where it suits you, we can set up a call tracking number as the primary number and keep your main number listed as an additional number, which helps keep your details consistent while measuring calls. Why it matters: you should know how many real customers are coming from local search, not just how many people saw your listing.
How we work
- Free growth audit. Request a free growth audit. Within two business days, you get a plain-English review of your profile, reviews, citations, website and the competitors showing above you.
- Fixed monthly quote. A written monthly price and a list of what we will do in the first three months, approved by you before we start.
- Fix the foundations. Profile clean-up, categories, NAP consistency, schema, tracking and the review process come first, because everything else builds on them.
- Build steadily. Posts, photos, review replies, new citations and service or location pages, month by month.
- Report monthly. A plain-English report on profile calls and clicks, website visits from local search, reviews, ranking checks across your service area and what we will do next.
Your Google Business Profile stays owned by you. We are added as a manager, and you can remove us any time. The service is month-to-month, with no lock-in.
Can you guarantee a spot in the map pack?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Google decides rankings, distance from the searcher plays a big part, and results differ from street to street. Local SEO also takes time. Fixing the basics can help fairly quickly, but reviews and reputation build over months. What we guarantee is the agreed work each month, at the agreed price, reported honestly, on accounts you own.
How much does local SEO cost?
Local SEO starts from $400 per month for a single-location business in one main service area. The price depends on:
- The number of locations or Google Business Profiles
- How competitive your industry and city are
- How many new service or location pages you need
- The state of your current listings and citations (a messy history takes more clean-up)
See pricing for how our monthly plans work.
Who is local SEO not a good fit for?
- Online-only businesses with no physical location or local service area. You will be better served by broader SEO or ads.
- Businesses that want to list a virtual office or a mailbox as a storefront. That breaks Google's guidelines and can get a profile suspended.
- Anyone who needs leads this week. Local SEO is a steady build; Google Ads can bring calls faster while it grows.
How it connects with our other services

Common questions.
How do I get my business in the Google map pack?
Google ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. A complete, accurate profile with the right categories, steady genuine reviews, consistent listings and strong service pages all help. Nobody can guarantee a spot, because Google decides and distance from the searcher matters.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Fixing profile basics and categories can help within weeks, but reviews, citations and reputation build over months. We report progress monthly so you can see what is changing.
Can you remove bad reviews from Google?
Only Google can remove reviews, and only when they break its policies, such as spam or conflicts of interest. We can help you flag those. For genuine negative reviews, a calm, helpful reply is usually the best response.
Is it okay to only ask happy customers for reviews?
No. That practice, called review gating, is against Google's policies. We set up a process that asks every customer, which is both allowed and more believable to people reading your reviews.
How much does local SEO cost for a small business?
Our local SEO starts from $400 per month for a single location in one main service area. More locations, more pages or tougher competition cost more. It is month-to-month, with no lock-in.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
A Google Business Profile can work alone, but a good website makes it much stronger. Service pages support your relevance, and visitors who click through need a clear way to call or book.
Works well together.
